RSVP below!

A space focused on the relationship between corporate power and environmental catastrophe. We’re interested in gathering with folks who, like us, want an end to corporate destruction of the Earth for-profit and to create alternatives for a truly livable world.

Move to Amend has focused on ending the constitutional rights for corporations in the United States which are used to get away with; dangerous fracking and pipelines, spewing oil and toxic waste into the water, mountaintop removal, usurping community rights and violating treaties, and every other shameful action corporations take in the pursuit of maximum profit.

We have one perspective and hold one piece of the work, but the fight for the survival of animals and ecosystems will take many of us. The is a space where we invite folks who are fighting this fight to come and share with us, help strengthen the public education we do and uplift your work and connect with other threads of the movement.

Second Thursday at 5pm PT/ 8pm ET

Meet Alfonso Saldaña: Environmental Warrior & Democracy Defender

Alfonso Saldaña is a passionate advocate for environmental justice and systemic reform. Alfonso brings a deep commitment to equity, sustainability, and democracy to every space he enters. He’s been deeply involved with the Ecology Network, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, the Alliance for Just Money, and more recently the Sunrise Movement—organizations that, like Move to Amend, understand that climate justice and economic justice go hand-in-hand. He has helped push the conversation forward on climate action, ecological integrity, and economic justice.

Alfonso developed a deep understanding of the patterns of oppression and inequality woven throughout history—especially those tied to wealth accumulation and corporate power. These insights led him to take action, and today he channels that knowledge into tangible movement-building through Move to Amend, where the mission is clear: end corporate constitutional rights and get money out of politics.

Recently, Alfonso has been focused on connecting local issues to the larger fight against corporate power. He’s working on organizing a screening of The New Corporation: The Unfortunate Sequel, in his community. He's also engaging with local candidates to public office and getting them to take the Pledge to Amend, and partnering with diverse local organizations to highlight the connection between every issue and corporate rule. His focus remains on the We the People Amendment as a critical solution to these problems.

At Move to Amend, Alfonso’s work is grounded in the belief that ending corporate constitutional rights and reducing the influence of money in politics are essential to reclaiming power for the people. He sees this as not just a political fight, but a necessary step toward a healthier planet and a more equitable society. Alfonso connects bold climate action with the urgent need to dismantle the legal structures that give corporations outsized control over our political and environmental systems.

For him, the connection between the We the People Amendment and the Mass Strike is undeniable. Corporate money has poisoned our democracy and fueled environmental collapse. But through non-violent direct action, he knows that we can claim our power. The people are rising—and we’re no longer waiting for permission.

He understands the need to amplify this momentum; to bridge our work and together, we’ll strategize on how to confront corporate profiteers, support frontline communities, and demand policies that prioritize people and the planet—not profit.

Alfonso reminds us that this fight is not abstract—it’s deeply personal, urgent, and winnable. When he’s not organizing, you might find him writing horror and dystopian fiction, taking long walks, or running through his local community. These moments of quiet reflection fuel his resolve to push harder for justice, freedom, and ecological balance.

A proud graduate of the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, Alfonso holds a degree in English with a concentration in creative writing and a minor in literature. It was through his literary studies that he unearthed the destructive legacy of unchecked wealth and corporate power—a revelation that ultimately led him to dedicate his career to challenging the corrosive influence of money in politics.

When he's not confronting the power of corporate conglomerates, Alfonso enjoys reading and writing horror and dystopian fiction, taking long walks, and running—all of which fuel his imagination and sharpen his resolve to create a world rooted in justice and sustainability.

Join us for the next Ecology Network call, where Alfonso will share his insights and experiences. It’s a chance to connect the dots between environmental issues and the We the People Amendment—and learn how we can all contribute to this important movement.

Stay tuned for more—and let’s rise together. Our future depends on it.

Will you come?
