The seasons are changing — and so is the momentum for climate justice!
This month, we’re especially thrilled to welcome a special guest from the Sunrise RGV Hub to help lead the way… Jonathan Berg, a lead in the political team with the Sunrise Rio Grande Valley Hub.

This month marks a long-awaited collaboration with the Sunrise Movement, whose Make Polluters Pay campaign is mobilizing communities nationwide.
Together, we’ll explore how local organizing and national strategy intersect — and how the We the People Amendment (HJR 54) could provide the constitutional teeth needed to ensure that polluters, not people, bear the costs of the climate crisis.
Jonathan has been on the frontlines of climate justice organizing in South Texas, where communities are grappling daily with environmental and economic challenges. As part of the Sunrise political team, he’s been busy with endorsement planning, petitioning, and grassroots outreach — including tabling events where neighbors can pick up disaster prep resources and supplies.
At our October call, Jonathan will:
-
Share insights from the national Sunrise Movement, one of the boldest youth-led forces for climate justice.
-
Highlight what the RGV Hub has already accomplished in their fight to build resilience and grassroots power.
-
Introduce the Make Polluters Pay campaign, a timely call to demand that corporations — not communities — shoulder the cost of the climate disasters they helped create.

Jonathan’s passion and leadership remind us that real change begins at the local level, where communities come together to resist corporate abuse and build alternatives. His story is proof that every postcard written, every conversation sparked, and every petition signed brings us closer to a future where people and the planet come before profit.

A space focused on the relationship between corporate power and environmental catastrophe. We’re interested in gathering with folks who, like us, want an end to corporate destruction of the Earth for-profit and to create alternatives for a truly livable world.
Move to Amend has focused on ending the constitutional rights for corporations in the United States which are used to get away with; dangerous fracking and pipelines, spewing oil and toxic waste into the water, mountaintop removal, usurping community rights and violating treaties, and every other shameful action corporations take in the pursuit of maximum profit.
We have one perspective and hold one piece of the work, but the fight for the survival of animals and ecosystems will take many of us. The is a space where we invite folks who are fighting this fight to come and share with us, help strengthen the public education we do and uplift your work and connect with other threads of the movement.
Second Thursday at 5pm PT/ 8pm ET
