Peggy Daly-Masternak, coordinator for I-475 Neighborhoods Coalition.

Originally from Pittsburgh, was transplanted to Toledo, OH almost 40 years ago (with a few other locales along the way). She didn’t want to move to Toledo, and she would say so on frequent drives in the 1980s between Michigan and Pittsburgh. Boy was she wrong! She’s made wonderful friends here, had a great place to raise her two sons, and loves her activist networks—a growing list of people who crave and work for real democracy and justice. She decided to bloom where she was planted and has been active in Toledo and aligned with many national groups, working on education reform, neighborhood preservation, counter-recruitment, protecting Lake Erie from factory farms, and rethinking expansive highways. Her therapy and pleasures include gardening with native plants and raingardens.
